Nate Nearhood

Director, Investments

Nate Nearhood is a Director on MSIG’s investment team and is primarily responsible for sourcing and executing new joint venture investments for the firm’s opportunistic equity platform.

Nate is actively involved in the day-to-day management of MSIG’s internal due diligence processes and prospective investment analyses. Nate works closely with the firm’s Executive Committee and asset management team to ensure a seamless execution of MSIG’s portfolio throughout the investment cycle. Nate is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA).

Prior Experience

Prior to joining MSIG, Nate was a Senior Analyst and Controller at BLDG Partners, a Los Angeles-based real estate investment manager. Nate was responsible for overseeing all accounting functions, underwriting and due diligence analyses, and asset management of the firm’s portfolio across +3,000 residential units and 2.7 million SF of commercial space.

Nate previously worked as an Associate in PwC’s audit and consulting practice in Los Angeles. Nate was part of a group that provided financial and tax consulting to global investment managers in the real estate, entertainment, and technology sectors.

Education

Nate received a B.S. with a concentration in Accounting from the University of Southern California’s Marshall School of Business and a M.B.A. from its Price Dollinger Master of Real Estate Development program.
